TeamMichelle – FanMail: FMMF Review

Review written by fan Tyler Rhea:
On August 29th, Michelle Williams made her way to Columbus, Ohio to perform a 30 minute set for the “Fashion Meets Music Festival (FMMF)”. She blazed the stage opening with the church banger “Fall” followed by “Just Like You”. It wasn’t until she performed the song “Yes” when she got the entire park into a frenzy and had the entire crowd jumping simultaneously. Following the song, Michelle performed the second single, off of her currently #1 album Journey To Freedom, “Fire” starting with an acoustic version of the song to the beat of Rapper Lil’ Wayne’s “How To Love”. Once the first verse & chorus ended the beat came in giving the song new life.
After tackling the energy of the park with “Fire”, Michelle proceeded to give a speech about judgment and then went into her lead single “If We Had Your Eyes”. As if “If We Had Your Eyes” wasn’t already vocally chilling, Michelle decided to give what can arguably be one of her top 3 best performances of all time with the song “Believe In Me”. Michelle gave a “Do You Know (Live In Atlanta)” type powerhouse vocal to the track that gave chills to everyone. But it wasn’t until Michelle decided to get up close and personal during the song and hopped off the stage to touch the hand of everyone in the audience, that the crowd was beyond accepting and felt the spirit of her inspiring words to the song. After the song turned into a 10-minute rendition, she climbed back on stage and screamed “Turn Up”. Turn up she did as she proceeded to end the segment with her #1 Hit song “Say Yes” while hitting every note of her sisters Kelly Rowland & Beyoncé flawlessly. Once the performance ended, she signed a few autographs and thanked everyone on supporting her. Truly making her a genuine person performer and Profit.
Tyler’s personal experience with Michelle:
To start off, I must say this was Michelle’s BEST & I mean BEST concert. Though short; it went off flawlessly and she felt the love so much during “Believe In Me” that she jumped over the gate and walked out into the audience to shake everyone’s hands and sing to them. Her vocals were so on point, her performances were great. She has a full choreography to “SAY YES” now. She made me burst into tears during “YES” when I told her before, that I loved that song and its my favorite off the album. She pointed me out and said “This One Is For You” and got in my face and sang “YES”. It was so damn perfect! Everything from the audio to the band to the background singers were on point. Above all her vocals were controlled and pitch perfect. I got to meet her after the concert got all my stuff autographed. I stole a bottle of water out of her hand that she took a sip out of. And during waiting for the fans to take pics & autographs I had a convo about how she touched me, what her favorite album & song from the new album is, what her next single was (she said its a toss up between Just Like You, Fall & Yes or she might invest and do them all but once the album releases she will be putting out more singles) she plans to tour before next year and I asked her about the DC reunion. She said “I heard the interview but I cant CONFIRM or Deny it, but definitely stay tuned”.
