Michelle Williams Talks Gospel Album and Favorite Destiny’s Child Memories with Essence
Michelle Williams is gearing up to release her upcoming gospel record, Journey to Freedom, this year. She tells ESSENCE.com that some Destiny’s Child fans may not like gospel music, but they shouldn’t count her’s out. “I just hope that music, and consumers in general, are welcoming to me,” said Williams who recently released the single “If We Had Your Eyes.” “I love all types of music. I never go into one genre with a take over type of spirit. I love gospel music because that is my foundation.” The singer also talks about how she came up with the sub-genre “urban inspirational” and what her favorite Destiny’s Child memories are.
